Verdance is the blog for plant lovers, growing into an AI-powered app for smarter plant care.

This project started as a digital space for plant enthusiasts to discover tips, guides, and inspiration for taking care of their plants. Verdance is more than a blog, it’s the seed of a larger vision: an evolving digital ecosystem where AI becomes a companion, helping people nurture their plants in smarter, more intuitive ways. The design approach emphasizes clarity and accessibility, combining a clean visual identity with a scalable structure that can naturally grow from blog to app. Each decision, from content hierarchy to responsive layouts, was shaped to deliver a seamless user experience while building a strong foundation for future AI-powered features.

Shaping the user experience of Verdance

Design choices that prepare Verdance for the future.

Designing Verdance was not only about creating a beautiful interface, but about shaping an experience that feels consistent and easy to use. Even though the project started as a blog, I approached it with the same mindset I would apply to a larger product. I worked on wireframes to explore page structures, built a library of reusable components, and used variables to keep layouts flexible and scalable. This allowed the design to stay clear and coherent across devices, while leaving space for future growth into an AI-powered app.

Design choices that prepare Verdance for the future.

The design work behind Verdance focused on building a clear and enjoyable reading experience. I worked on defining a visual language that feels natural and modern, while also making sure the interface could adapt to different needs. The structure was designed to be flexible, with scalable components and a content system that keeps navigation simple and intuitive.

To ensure consistency and scalability, I built a modular design system for Verdance. The foundation included typography, color tokens, and UI primitives, which were then expanded into reusable components such as headers, cards, filters, and hero sections.

By leveraging variables and jumper logic, these components became flexible and adaptable across different layouts and breakpoints. This approach allowed for rapid iteration while maintaining a cohesive look and feel, ensuring the product could evolve from a blog into a more complex app without losing design clarity.

Looking ahead: from blog to AI-powered app

Design choices that prepare Verdance for the future.

Verdance is only at the beginning of its journey. The blog will keep expanding with new content and features, while the next step is the development of an app that uses AI to support plant owners in their daily care. The goal is to grow Verdance into a complete ecosystem where design, technology, and nature evolve together.
